Plans and pricing
Choose the data capacity you need.
Community and Professional include the same fields, views, metrics, and results. Assign Professional to each person who needs to analyze or view results above the Community data limit.
Not yet available for public purchase. Threadseer has not been submitted to Microsoft Marketplace. The prices below are the approved plan for an initial United States launch, not a live offer.
Community
Free
$0
Explore the complete Threadseer workflow with up to 25,000 event rows in each analysis.
- All ten analysis and investigation views
- All supported fields, metrics, controls, and comparisons
- Same calculations and results as Professional at Community scale
- No Threadseer account required
Professional (planned)
For larger analyses
$20 / assigned user / month
or $200 per assigned user per year—a $40 annual saving
Analyze up to a supported baseline of 100,000 event rows. Threadseer may attempt larger complete datasets, up to 1,000,000 rows, when the available Power BI memory and device resources permit.
- Everything in Community
- Higher data capacity through Microsoft-managed licensing
- Assigned-user access for analysis and viewing above the Community limit
- No separate Threadseer account or licensing server
The main difference is data capacity
| What you get | Community | Professional (planned) |
| Event rows in each analysis | Up to 25,000 | Supported baseline of 100,000, with conditional attempts above that level |
| Fields you can add | All supported fields | Same |
| Views and analysis tools | All current views, metrics, controls, and comparisons | Same |
| Results | Complete results within the Community limit | The same results, with more data capacity |
| Data privacy | Data stays in Power BI and is not sent to us | Same |
Larger Professional analyses are not guaranteed. Capacity depends on the shape of the data, Power BI, WebView2, available memory, and the device. Threadseer stops instead of analyzing a partial dataset.
Pricing and availability
- Community is free for personal, educational, evaluation, and internal commercial use.
- Professional launch pricing is US$20 per assigned user per month or US$200 per assigned user per year.
- There is no time-limited Professional trial at launch. You can use Community free for as long as you like.
- The initial Marketplace plan is limited to the United States.
Community is a feature tier of the same proprietary Threadseer visual, not a separate open-source or redistributable product. When Threadseer is acquired through Microsoft Marketplace, Community use is governed by the Microsoft Standard Contract.
When a live offer is verified, this page will link to the Marketplace listing and provide purchase and license-assignment instructions. Until then, check Release Status for confirmed availability.
For Power BI administrators: how Professional licensing works
- Customers purchase Professional through Microsoft Marketplace after the offer becomes available.
- An administrator assigns the Professional plan using Microsoft's licensing tools.
- Power BI tells Threadseer whether the current user has an assigned Professional plan. Threadseer does not receive or retain the underlying Microsoft plan identifier.
- If Power BI cannot confirm Professional access, Threadseer continues with Community limits.
Threadseer does not operate a separate licensing server, create customer accounts, or send report or process data as part of licensing. Microsoft manages purchasing, assignment, and license status. See Microsoft's licensing guidance.
Power BI environments with Professional licensing limits
Microsoft currently does not support licensed custom-visual plans in every Power BI environment. Professional licensing is unsupported in:
- Publish to web and PaaS embedded scenarios;
- national or regional clouds where Marketplace purchasing is unavailable;
- Power BI Report Server; and
- REST API PDF or PowerPoint export.
Community may still work where the visual itself is supported, but this does not guarantee interactive analysis, rendering, export, or Marketplace availability in every environment. Review Microsoft's current Power BI visual licensing limitations.
